This month, I wanted to share with you a new country music duo that you’ve just gotta know about.
Every now and then you hear of an artist, or duo, that instantly stands out – and at that moment, you know they’re bound to be industry game changers.
Meet Leo Brooks and Andrew Milsaps – the first black and white duo in country music history. With a mix of rockin’ country soul and the power to throw a party anywhere… especially on their upcoming Summer anthem “Beer Up” – there is nothing these guys can’t do. Recently signing a record deal with Rascal Flatts’ Jay Demarcus on his “Red Street Records,” as well as being the inaugural artist on JAB Management, a full-service management and production company created by country superstar Jimmie Allen, John Marks and Aaron Benward, they’re on a direct route to many busy days ahead.
I first met Andrew and Leo when they opened for Jimmie at SKyPAC here in Bowling Green last year. Not knowing much about them at the time, it didn’t take long after for me to want to find out everything I could!
Trust me, they’ll have that effect on you, too. The guys are currently on Jimmie’s “Down Home” tour, supporting shows on his first headlining list of dates.
With that being said, on April 19th they’ll play a debut show that they’ve been dreaming about for years – The Grand Ole Opry. Witnessing the night where Jimmie surprised them with an invite to make their debut, and to see the excitement in that moment for two really great and talented guys, was chilling. Those are the career highlights you love to see and it couldn’t be happening for two better guys.
Safe to say, we’re glad the forces brought them together. Country music needs a Neon Union. These guys are the boys you want to party with, drink a beer with and write a song with. I’m literally thinking about how cool a bonfire with these guys would be right now… these guys are going to break down barriers with their style and songwriting. I saw it from the first day, and I hope they continue to rise up as industry game changers. Do yourself a favor, give them a follow and be a part of their journey – you’ll be glad you did. @neonunionmusic on all socials.
